Tori Ratcliffe
Tori Ratcliffe
Tori Ratcliffe is an animal artist who creates lively, colourful portraits using watercolour and fineliner. She applies the paint first, in a loose expressive manner, and then draws the details in on top. This allows her to effectively portray the life and character of her chosen subject.
A self-taught artist with a background in Creative Advertising (Leeds College of Art, 2014) Tori has successfully exhibited twice in London, including the prestigious Mall Galleries in Pall Mall, and has also had the opportunity of a solo exhibition.
"Today, in between the painting, I spend my time concocting ways that my artwork can benefit wildlife and conservation charities, as having lost 50% of our planet's wildlife in just 40 years, it's imperative that we act now to protect what's left. I'm proud to say that I have managed to donate over £13,500 to various conservation charities since 2014.
"After all, it's only fair that the animals I paint get something back."
ISLAND BLUE GALLERY
Island Blue Gallery is an art gallery and gift shop located at Baliscate, near Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. We have a beautiful, light space filled with works by many skillful Scottish artists ranging from the mysterious and tranquil sweeping landscapes of Garry Brander to the mythical and surreal fantastical worlds of Matylda Konecka. A lot of the prints we stock have a distinctly Scottish feel and truly capture the essence of Scotland's landscape and wildlife.
